Our Actions

Artamiti cares deeply about the welfare of the strays in Epidavros. However, our means are limited, which is why we have chosen to focus primarily on Epidavros’ coast line, starting from Kalamaki beach, the port and the peninsula with the Small Ancient Theatre.
We save paws, one step at a time, colony, by colony, by neutering, feeding and rehoming. By being focused, we achieve the maximum result : to provide for a safe, healthy and controlled environment for the stray animals in the colonies we target.

What we do

We organize neuterings of targeted colonies of cats, depending on available resources. We give priority to the coastline in the port of P. Epidavros.

We feed, water, and provide veterinary care for the neutered cats of these colonies, offering temporary shelter where needed.

We help individuals trap cats for transport to a vet, provided there is a volunteer available.

We work with volunteers who care for stray dogs and, depending on our resources, assist with food, veterinary expenses, and adoption transport.

We share foster and adoption needs for stray animals in the Municipality of Epidaurus on our Facebook and Instagram profiles.

We do not undertake transport unless it concerns neutering, emergency veterinary care, or adoption with prior vet arrangements and provided that a volunteer is available.

Our Actions - Feeders and watertubes

The feeders and water tubes are designed by Artamiti, paid by donors and installed by volunteers and painted by schoolchildren. The port cats are using them with much success – even waiting in line to eat (in winter). You can now sponsor one of our feeders and call it your own feeder for a whole year!

School Activities

We aspire Epidavros to become a model for the care of stray animals. This requires a change of culture. Therefore, education of various age groups, especially the young schoolchildren is key to cultivate compassion and respect for the animals. Through targeted activities, Artamiti involved the young generations to participate:

In Autumn 2024, we organized animal awareness sessions in collaboration with the charity Z.O.E.S. in the Kindergarten and Grammar Schools of Epidavros as well as the High School of Lygourio.

In May and April 2025, a total of 40 students from the Epidavros Grammar School and the Lyceum of Lygourio took part in our project to “Paint the Stray Cat Feeders”, where a total of 8 feeders were painted with the assistance of Angelika Rinnus art therapist and Artamiti volunteer.
